What is free access to Wisconsin Open Records CCAP? ›

FREE ACCESS TO WISCONSIN OPEN RECORDS (CCAP)

CCAP provides free, efficient, and convenient public access to court case records. A partner website, WSCCA, provides public access to cases filed with the Wisconsin Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.

The public may view all nonconfidential portions of a circuit court record in person, at the office of the clerk of court for the county where the case was filed, or may view certain portions of the circuit court record online via the Director of State Courts' public internet website.

In the United States, you can Access Court Records Electronically through the US Courts website as part of the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) project. This website also informs you of whether or not a case is actively involved in litigation. PACER allows you to search for cases through all US courts.

A forfeiture violation is by definition not a crime. Common examples are speeding tickets and other non-criminal traffic issues (equipment violations, etc). Certain offenses, such as Disorderly Conduct or Possession of THC, can also be issued, in certain cases, as a forfeiture and not a crime.

Are you a party in a court proceeding (i.e. defendant, complainant, legal representative, prosecution, plaintiff)? Changes to Wisconsin CCAP Records
